Newport Beach & Orange County, CA
It should be noted that Newport Beach breast surgery is not only for the female patient but there are many conditions in male patients that benefit from cosmetic breast surgery. At times, patients who exhibit obesity will deposit fat in their breasts and this fat affects them tremendously, psychologically, and affects their wardrobe and makes these men very self-conscious about their body image. Through techniques of liposuction as has been discussed previously in this website. The excess fatty tissue can be removed in a male breast through methods of liposuction along with proper dietary habits and muscle toning habits. In the vast majority of cases there’s a significant improvement in the patients general appearance. The excess skin that results from removing the fat filler generally shrinks and conforms very nicely to the underlying muscle framework and results in a significant improvement in the shape of the patients body and their self image as well as their latitude in their wardrobe.
At times, men are born with very small chest muscles and the ideal masculine framework is one where there is reasonable definition of the chest muscle which is know as the pectoralis muscle. In instances where there is a lack of development of the pectoralis muscle, these patients are ideal candidates for pectoralis muscle implants. Because the objective here is to stimulate a better defined chest muscle, the implant that is specifically designed for this improvement is inserted under the muscle so as to give the illusion of having a better defined chest muscle and more masculine chest muscle. These types of implants are no different in concept than the facial implants that have been discussed in previous sections of this website.
There is also a condition that is called Gynocomastia. The definition of Gynocomastia is a female breast. This occurs in many men. The gynocomastia condition is one that responds very well to a liposuction procedure in which the excess tissue that is creating the female breast appearance is removed through a liposuction technique. At times there is a tough glandular tissue similar to the glandular tissue in a women’s breast that requires removal by a direct excision of that tissue through an incision that is at the conjunction of the pigmented and non pigmented area of the nipple. Through a limited incision, the glandular tissue is excised to result in a more contoured breast and these patients have dramatic improvements in the protrusion of their breast tissue and are extremely gratified with the procedure. This has tremendous positive implant on their self esteem and this allows them to have more latitude with their wardrobe and assume a more normal life where they are no longer self conscious with the shape of their breast.
Clearly, the vast majority of patients who have breast surgery are females. There basically are four conditions that occur that can be improved by performing breast surgery in women.
- Hereditary condition where there is a lack of complete development and volume of the women’s breast.
- An acquired condition where the breast volume is lost either because of a general weight loss, as a result of nursing, or as a result of what we refer to as atrophy which can occur as a patient ages.
- Where patients are born with a significant, hereditary difference in the size, shape, or position of the two breasts.
- There is a mild descent or relaxation or grouping of the breast.
All four of these conditions are ideal for a variety of breast implant surgery.
In addition to these conditions that lend themselves to breast implant surgery, we also see patients who have a severe drooping or descent of the breast tissue and these are patients who are ideal candidates for breast lifting procedures that are known as mastopexy. The other condition that women present with is one where the breast is simply too large for the body. This can occur in teenagers as the breast overdevelops and can occur in not only teenagers, but patients in their 20s and 30s. The result is where the breast is extremely large for the body and is uncomfortable. Patient’s have difficulty finding the ideal type of bra support. The bra very often creates discomfort in the shoulder regime. The excess weight of the breast also affects the body posture and significantly affects the daily activity of these patients so that they are restricted in engaging in certain types of physical and athletic activities. These patients are ideal candidates for a breast reduction procedure which will be described and is in today’s world, a relatively simple, safe surgical procedure.
Another area you may want to consider rejuvenating is the upper chest. Dr. Brennan has developed an innovative and minimally invasive approach to reverse signs of age of the upper chest. This area, called the décolleté, is the triangle between the shoulders and the breast cleavage.
